I picked up this book to help me jumpstart a new role at a company that sells gear into the Cable industry.
I found the book to be written very clearly and have concise yet usable introductions to the many facets of running a media business.
Some parts I felt were missing were real world examples (dare I say case studies), names of key players / vendors in every area described in the book (e.g. if you spend 16 pages on support systems, why not name a few of the market leaders) and exercises / further reading references.
This book helped me get up to speed on a lot of the terminology and thus was an overall win. Many of the topics described will be painfully obvious to someone with a business education (MBA's beware).
