I want to buy this product and have followed it from Amazon to Country Home Products to the Crosely website. On the Crosley website instead of vague information regarding the "antenna" it explains the necessity of purchasing either an XM mini tuner to play XM (as well as getting a subscription to XM) or ordering another product an XM Mini Tuner and Home Dock. This explicit information should added to both this website and the Country Home Products website. Otherwise purchasers will not get what they think they paid for. All of these items are on back order according to the Crosley website and no date is given as to when it should be available. I am disappointed but want to order this item.
No it is not portable and light. I want something that I don't have to build but can simply attach a tuner and go after getting the subscription. This looks like it.

Explorers have expanded our perception of the world around us. Beyond AM/FM radio lies XM a totally new band of frequencies that span our continent (and the world) via satellites orbiting our planet over 20,000 miles away. Receiving XM requires a special subscription (at a monthly fee) but it offers vast new programming options beyond radio as you know it. The successful launch of Explorer I by NASA on February 1, 1958, marked the USA's official entry in the space race, and was a water shed moment of pride for all Americans. In it's early days, the satellite was strictly a government entity, today they contribute to the public sector in all areas of communications-including radio. Our new partnership with satellite radio leader XM has yielded Crosley Radios own ?first?- the Explorer 1 tabletop sound system. This little box has it all. Start with our exclusive AroundSound system in stereo supported by THREE speakers and ported bass for incredible -InchOut of the box-Inch sound. With all that power, what should you listen to? Talk radio and NPR are there for the asking through our digital AM/FM tuner. Need more choices? Switch to XM, and enjoy over 150 channels of music and content. Anxious to hear your favorite CD? Just slide it in! Ready to fire up your favorite download? Use our Portable Audio Ready feature, hook up your MP3 and let the good times roll! All this packed into a handcrafted wooden cabinet with beveled aluminum accents. Unlike ordinary XM radios, Crosley Explorer-1 makes XM more practical, easier to access and use. It's a world of new opportunities, feel free to explore and enjoy!
