(More customer reviews)In terms of electronics, no one does it like Sony. I love Sony products because of the quality and the ease of use. This CD player was bought in replacement after I lost my last one. My former CD player was also a Sony and after having it for 3 years it was showing no signs of wear. But, since I lost it, I was forced to buy a new one. The D-FJ210 is an excellent player which lives up to the Sony standard of quality. There are several pros and a few petty cons that I will list.
Pros:
* Excellent sound quality
* Many many preset slots, you could easily save every one of your favorite radio stations
* Good reception of FM/AM radio frequencies, TV reception is far more touchy
* Slim and sleek design allows for various uses
* VERY DURABLE. Believe me, I have dropped this player countless times from tops of counters, outside, from the car, etc. There are a few small nicks to show for all this. I've had the radio or even a CD playing when its been dropped and it was not disrupted.
* The ESP is perfect, you can even have the player upside down while reading a disc without any change in performance.
* Ease of use, very simple to operate.
* BATTERY LIFE!!! I hardly ever change my batteries, maybe once a month if I was using the CD player often during that month. If I was infrequently using the CD player and just the radio, it would be around 2 monthes before needing to change the batteries. Its wonderful.
* This player does play CD-Rs/CD-RWs. Check the back of the player, on the black sticker that contains all the techincal info. At the bottom, it clearly says CD-R/CD-RW. I have never had a problem playing CD-Rs, which I mostly use. If you do have a problem, it could be because the format is still MP3 and this player does not read that.
Cons:
* Small buttons, but fixed by the included remote (which does work very well. Since the remote is so small the "stop" button serves 2 purposes, turn off CD player and turn on radio. You have to press quickly to turn of player and hold to turn on radio. Simple.)
* I'm not sure if this is unique to my player, but when it spins the CD to start it makes a loud whirring noise and when you change songs, there is another noise.
* The player also slightly vibrates while reading the CD
* TV reception is very touchy and you cannot walk around while using it as it will begin to get fuzzy.
* I cannot get the weather band to work for some reason. Not a big deal though, because I'd rather check the news or internet for weather.
And thats about it. The cons aren't really big, they are just small things that one could find about any CD player
Bottom line: Durable, quality, great, and easy to use. What more could you want?
