Harman Kardon AVR7550HD 7.2 Channel Audio/Video Receiver with Updated 1.4a HDMI Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)First off I attempted to replace my older Harman Kardon AVR 745 by upgrading with what I thought would be a upgrade to an Onkyo TX NR3008, needless to say it went back and I got all my money back, loved all the features but the sound comparison did not compare to the old HK 745. So then I tried the Yamaha RX-A3000 and another receiver returned and got my money back, loved all the features of the Yamaha better than the Onkyo, up-scaling was impressive as was all the hdmi inputs with dual hdmi outs! But, the sound the Yamaha put out did not compare to the clean crisp hear every detailed highs, mids and bass output of the old HK 745. Finally decided to stay with Harman and got the HK AVR 7550hd, glad I did, incredible sound, extremely powerful, really detailed sound output, crisp sharp highs, mids are incredible and the bass output sounds awesome on my custom home built bigboy speakers. If you are looking for good video up-scaling and that is your only concern then look at the Yamaha, but the sound output will be lacking, actually disappointing. Every feature on the Harman works like it should!!

The AVR 7550HD 7 x 110W 7.2-channel A/V receiver with HDMI V1.4a repeater, audio/video processing and upscaling to 1080p was among the first receivers to offer Dolby Volume technology, which automatically adjusts volume levels when switching between sources and channels. It accepts a universe of inputs, including HDMI, component video, S-video, USB and broadband Internet, as well as The Bridge II docking station (included) for iPod A/V playback, control and charging. Every Dolby and DTS technology is here, as is Faroudja DCDi Cinema and our exclusive Logic 7 processing. Zone II remote, Zone II OSD and A-BUS technologies work together to greatly simplify multiroom A/V applications. And the EzSet/EQ II system fine-tunes performance to the acoustic needs of your space in just a few easy steps. If there's something the AVR 7550HD can't do, it probably shouldn't be done. This Harman Kardon AVR-7550HD models will be shipping with HDMI v.1.4a with 3D. This will allow full compatibility with all 3D formats from either Blu-ray players or satellite and cable services. What's in the BoxOne high-performance AVR 7550HD Audio/Video receiver, one Bridge II docking station, one system remote control, one second zone remote control, one AM loop antenna, one FM co-axial antenna, one EzSet/EQ II calibration microphone
