(More customer reviews)Don't confuse this with "atomic clocks" that use a radio signal to set themselves. As far as I can figure out, this simply runs off a battery-backed-up clock chip, like you'd find in a wrist watch. You may need to set it once out of the box if you got it through gray market channels. However, once you get over that, it works great. The back-up battery should last 5 years or more. I have never found an "atomic clock" that was AC powered and had a display you could see in the dark, so I was glad to find this, even though it is not "atomic". I live in an area with frequent power glitches, and an older 'clock radio' needed to have the time set at least once a month. This solved the problem completely, so I can live with the misleading marketing.
I had another model from this company, with blue digits, and it was older so it did not adjust for Daylight Savings Time correctly. I can tell you that everything wrong with that one is OK in this model.
