(More customer reviews)I liked the features and large numbers if this clock radio, but was very disappointed when I got it home and tried it out.
Though large, the numbers are very close together so can be hard to read from any distance. They also have poor contrast -- turning them up to the highest brightness makes the background so bright that the effectiveness of the bright setting is lessened.
I was particularly looking for a radio with presets, and this has them (20 FM) but the implementation is so poor they are basically useless. With only one button to work with, you have to cycle through the 20 presets to get to the one you want. I put my most often used preset at number 1. If I miss and end up on preset two, that's twenty clicks to get back to what I want -- or if I'm on number two and want to go to number one, I've got to go all the way around. Ridiculous.
The iPod/iPhone features are basic, but seem to work well. The radio reception is fine, as is the sound quality. This might be fine for someone who doesn't listen to the radio much, or only listens to one station, and has sharp eyes to read the time across a room (or can put this near to where they will be when reading it). Otherwise stay away.

It's durable (I've dropped it several times down several flights of stairs, but it's still here and working) and performs as advertised. One minor complaint though. The radio doesn't go very loud without distortion. But who would want to crank an alarm clock radio up anyways??? Overall, this is a great product.

(More customer reviews)Trying to find a reliable, easy to use, inexpensive, alarm clock for the wife. She wanted one that sets itself and had a battery back-up. I wanted one that would wake her up. Found this one at K-mart and spent 30 mins playing with it over by the televisions (needed a power source). This radio alarm clock is perfect for what I need. This being my first review, I"ll just point out the things that made me buy it.
1. Nice soft blue color, 2 setting...low you can just make out and high is clearly visible
2. Battery back up (even came with batteries) easy to find AA"s
3. Plug in in and it sets itself (all you have to do is set the time zone) has a switch for Daylight Savings Time.
4. Dual alarm (his and her) or in this case days and midnights...set it and forget it. You don't have to remember to set it everyday.
5. If the power goes out the alarm goes into kind of a sleep mode. It beeps to warn you of the power failure and according to the instructions, remembers the alarm settings and goes off without it being plugged in (not tested yet)
6. The alarm starts off kinda like any other alarm but then gets progressively louder (can't see anyone sleeping through this one)
7. Playing with the tuner, looks like one of those old fashion, spin the dial things, but it shows a digital read on the display (kinda cool but it's a cheap radio folks and sounds like one)
8. The snooze is adjustable from 1 to 30 mins.
9. Last but not least, the alarm set time is displayed on the lower right, so if your the nervous type, you can double check to make sure the alarm is where you want it to be. All for around 20 bucks...and that"s all I have to say about that.....

Sony ICFC723 AM/FM Memory Clock Radio Review

(More customer reviews)This clock came out in Korea a little over a week ago. I bought it at my favorite Korean store to use in my bedroom. It(sony) is a great American brand I always try to find American things to put in my house. I got this one because i like Sony a lot. I have had a Sony clock beofer this and it lasted for many years. I just got it yesterday and i used it last night. Even though the shape seems a little wierd with the time being to the back of the clock it did not make a very big difference. I think I actually like it better the time being not right in your face, like most other clocks have their screen at the front of their machine. This is a wounderful clock my by one of the best American companies in the WHOLE WORLD.

(More customer reviews)I bought this item for a Xmas present for a small child who wanted music to go to sleep too. It's a great product - well it would be if we could use it. The power supply it comes with is a unique/custom design that allows you to interchange between various differing country AC outlet pin configurations - in the box comes one for EU and the UK but NONE for the US. The AC/DC Unit requires you to attach one of the included pin connectors in order to be used - i.e. it's not like it had a US 2 pin as standard.
I thought perhaps they had forgotten to put a US connector in the box - then reading the manual - the manual only shows EU/UK connectors.
Why is Amazon selling a product that can't be used out of the box?
Thank goodness I checked this product or it would have been tears on Christmas morning. I'm going to have to use the UK attachment and go to Radio Shack and spend another $10 on a UK/US adapter - which means, due to the larger size of the UK/EU plugs, we will have to sacrifice another electrical socket or spend another $7 for a power strip. This is working out to be a very expensive gift for what it does - especially seeing as this same unit is on sale on Amazon UK site for 35% cheaper!
Still - at least it will work if I ever move back to the UK!
Totally unacceptable.

I have two marine batteries on my boat, but I bought this product for emergency back-up while on the open water. Keep in mind that I only use this product down below in a constant dry area of the sailboat's cabin (away from water) for safety reasons. I really didn't buy it for the jump starter or the USB Port, but if needed, I will be glad to have them. Since I didn't buy it primarily for the jump starter, I was glad to see that the jumper cables were detachable when not in use. I selected this product based on three factors: price, power and options. I saw this same product at Wal-mart for a more expensive pricetag (plus tax). Also, the free shipping from Amazon was fantastic: it is rather heavy, so to get free shipping on such a heavy product was a plus . The features are great. I get two AC and two DC power outlets. Having the two power options (AC or DC) is awesome. When I'm out on my boat, I can plug in a portable DVD player, charge/power up my phone and portable VHF in emergencies, and listen to the radio or weatherband all at the same time! I've used the radio (which gets good reception) and the light (more of a narrow spotlight for finding close objects). It seems to hold a charge for day and overnight sailing trips (for my light uses). Oh, a small blower kicks on when the 120V AC switch is turned on and the 12V DC outlets are rated for 5A max. each. Overall, I am quite happy with this product. I can also see it useful for road trips and camping trips too! Oh, I almost forgot...you will need to buy a grounded extension cord to charge it, or you can use the included 12V charger (but that seems like it may take a long time to get a full charge from a drained battery).
UPDATE: Now that Amazon.com does not ship this item from its' warehouse, you as a consumer ARE NOT eligible for free shipping. It may now be cheaper buying it at your local Wal-mart. Do your research before buying!

The displayed numbers are smallish.Reception can be very sensative to how the power cord is routed. Despite the few disadvantages, I like this clock radio, especially the digital seek tuning with 10 presets. It appears that it has the capability for the two alarms to tune to different stations, but I didn't test it.

(More customer reviews)This clock serves it's purpose adequately enough, however the design and placement of all those buttons is lacking. Most people reach out and turn off their alarm in the dark. It is difficult to find the off button. You have to feel your way around the top of the unit. The "Off" button should have been more protruding or pronounced or placed elsewhere not to be confused with all the other buttons next to it.
