Denon Networking Client Dock with WiFi for iPod Review

Denon Networking Client Dock with WiFi for iPod

Though expensive it is worth every penny! Hook-up was fairly easy and connecting it to my wifi was simple. Having a menu of all my music on screen and being able to control it by remote control is so cool! Streaming internet radio is simple as it is built in to the menu system. Click the "Browse/Remote" button on the remote and you can listen to Pandora or Slacker radio through your stereo. Start up Microsoft Media Player on a networked computer and it automatically detects the Denon dock and allows you to setup a media server with an on screen menu. It is well built and sleek looking. I love this device almost as much as my iPod Touch.

Dock Station Ipod with rf Remote Review

Dock Station Ipod with rf Remote
Average Reviews:

The Air Dock works fine for recharging my iPod Touch and that's all. None of the other features work. All the remote does is make the light on the front blink. Griffin's site doesn't have it listed anymore, but you can find the page for it through Google. Compatibility is for the Gen 1 and 2 Nanos, iPod Video and iPod Photo, which gives you an idea how old this thing is.It isn't compatible with anything recent. Unfortunately, I didn't think to look it up on Griffin's site until after I ordered it, and Amazon doesn't have the compatibilities listed.
At $15 marked down from $88, it's cheaper than most chargers out there, so I'm keeping it for that. But if you're looking to hook your iPod up to a TV or stereo, keep looking.

Skullcandy S7PIBN-CZ Pipe Speaker Dock for iPod and iPhone (Chrome) Review

Skullcandy S7PIBN-CZ Pipe Speaker Dock for iPod and iPhone (Chrome)
Average Reviews:

One of the best sounding and looking portable speakers with an iPod dock.
1. Style
- Bought these in Chrome... but all of them are VERY sleek and VERY stylish. The cylindrical tube shape does need a bit of getting used to, and the small size is a major plus for those on the go. The nifty remote control really tops it all off- which I might add: though stated on the manual that the remote is only effective up to about 10ft, I have successfully gotten them to work at about 30-35ft away.... and now the best part...
... 2. Sound!
These are one of the BEST sounding portable speakers availible, up there with the LG MSP-100 folding speakers, which is my personal favorite. Both speaker sets are VERY loud while retaining clarity, but the Skullcandy Pipes do have a bit more on the low end/bass tones.
Running either on the AC wall adapter or AAA battery option, these babies pump out a whopping 5.6 Watts max! (Pretty Good considering their size, the LG MSP-100's only pumped out 4 Watts.)
These DO tend to distort at high volumes, but it's mainly only the low's that cause it. The Mids and Highs are still somewhat clear, but the distortion of the Lows really just ruins the music at those volumes.
AUDIOPHILE REVIEW:
Now, these do have weak lows and decent mids and decent highs.
*****These tested to have a freq. range of: 50hz-20khz.*****
The sound is slightly better when plugged into the wall.
As expected, the sound is only decent while on battery power.
3. Overall Opinion
These are GREAT speakers for those wanting to replace that boombox/radio sitting on their desk at home or work, and for those who want to share their music while on the go- at a picnic, or just hanging out at a party on the beach! These speakers do pack quite a surprising punch despite thier decievingly small size. The $69.99 price tag Target and some other retailers give these DOES seem a bit high, but the lower prices seen on eBay and Amazon do make a BIT more sense though sometimes a bit too low. $45-$55 seems a bit more appropriate.
BOTTOM LINE: BUY THEM! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Belkin TuneCommand AV Dock with Remote for iPod with Dock Connector (White) Review

Belkin TuneCommand AV Dock with Remote for iPod with Dock Connector (White)

I got this a few days ago, got the cheapest Monster brand cables out there, which were still a significant upgrade from the cheapos I'd had, and, well, I love it!!
It's true, you can't see the iPod menu on your tv, but it is liberating to have your entire cd collection (in my case, 15 days worth of continuous music on my iPod!) hooked up to your stereo and at your fingertips. With your iPod constantly charging, ready to head out the door with you fully charged at any time.
I've found the sound quality with the Monster cables quite excellent, and the remote to work well. I can be located in my multi-story apartment far away from the stereo, on a different floor from where it's located (cooking in the kitchen for example!), and I can use the radio remote to skip songs.
It's disapponting that Belkin didn't make this compatible with 220 volt electricity for travel in Europe, but for those of you in the States, I highly recommend it. I run mine off a transformer here in Belgium, and really like it!

Altec Lansing inMotion iMmini Portable Audio System for iPod Mini Review

Altec Lansing inMotion iMmini Portable Audio System for iPod Mini
Average Reviews:

This system is certainly better than the JBL onstage docking speaker system, however it also has its drawbacks.
Pros: very compact, user friendly, portable.
Cons: eats batteries, lacks a remote, sound quality is average.
If you can afford the Bose ipod base speaker, you'll love it. It's worth the extra cash. Sound is incredible. Comes with a remote the size of a credit card.
I have all three...the Altec Lansing is better than JBL, not as good as the Bose.

Philips SJM3152/17 RF Universal Remote Control for iPod with iPod Cradle/Dock/Charger/AV Connection Kit Review

Philips SJM3152/17 RF Universal Remote Control for iPod with iPod Cradle/Dock/Charger/AV Connection Kit
Average Reviews:

Amazing little gadget actually works as advertised. Unlike the proprietary Denon or Yamaha ipoddocks this one you can connect to ANY kind of audio equipment. And unlike the APPLE ipod dock + flimsy tiny remote with no display whatsoever + AV connection kit (= $100) (which I returned to Apple) this remote works via RADIO FREQUENCY from across the room and through walls if it has to be. The remote even has a DISPLAY that shows you what's playing - you know, kind of useful when you're across the room. You can even navigate through your ipod's menu; that's never been easy and it doesn't get easier using a remote without clickwheel, but it works.
What really blew me away is that I was able to also program my Aquos TV, my Sony receiver, my Sony Blue Ray and my Panasonic VHD/DVD combo. Those devices it controls via INFRARED, just like your original factory remotes that came with whatever you bought, and therefore you have to point the remote at your TV etc when operating those. What a relief, that remote control clutter is gone.
Just for fun I even programmed this remote to control my BOSE Portable Sounddock. Yep, it works.
