iHome iH27 Portable Alarm Clock for iPod (Black) Review

iHome iH27 Portable Alarm Clock for iPod (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I can't imagine what they were thinking when they designed this thing.
Here's the problem. If you have an ipod in the unit you cannot wake up to the buzzer, only the ipod. If you go to sleep with the ipod on, playing some mellow music at low volume, this is what you will hear for your morning alarm. It's not going to wake you. You cannot use the buzzer for an alarm unless you take the ipod out. What's the point of having it?
Mine is going back.

Perfect for the busy traveler, this portable iPod alarm clock speaker system lets you sleep or wake to your favorite iPod tunes or buzzer, or just enjoy a little music while your iPod charges. With a lock feature to maintain settings, battery or AC power, and a protective carrying case, it lets you take some room-filling sound nearly anywhere.

Charge and Play Your iPod Anywhere Play back your favorite tunes at home or while traveling with the iH27. While your iPod is docked, it receives a charge (when on AC power), so when you're ready to go, so is your iPod.

The iH27 power adapter is able to handle input voltage from 100 to 240 VA, so it'll work overseas with the right plug adapters. And because the iH27 is powered by either AC or four AA batteries (not included), you can enjoy music with or without an outlet. A handy carrying case is also included to keep the device safe and sound while in transit, whether it's a business trip or a barbecue.

Sleep or Wake to Your iPod The iH27 lets you wake to your docked iPod (or the buzzer alarm for you masochists). A gradual alarm feature gently raises the alarm volume, so as not to jar you out of sleep. You can also dim the display, with high, medium, low, and off settings.

The iH27 also has a sure alarm feature so the buzzer alarm will still sound in the event of power failure, if backup battery is installed.

And of course, there's a snooze button for grabbing a few more minutes of slumber and a sleep mode for falling asleep to your favorite tunes or podcasts.

Big Sound in a Small Package iHome's Reson8 technology, with through-body ported speaker chambers, gives the iH27's four speakers better response characteristics for superior stereo sound. In addition, SRS WOW technology is designed to provide a broader audio image with enhanced low-range and mid-range sound reproduction, in order to bring added life to compressed MP3 files.

Auxiliary Input and A/V Output Use the iH27's auxiliary input to connect external devices such as MP3 or CD players. You can also send the audio and/or video from the dock's A/V out to a television or stereo, for enjoying your iPod content on a larger scale.

What's in the Box iH27 main unit, AC adapter, iPod dock inserts, auxiliary cable, and user's manual.

Etón Sound 100 iPod Dock, Black Review

Etón Sound 100 iPod Dock, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)

The Sound 100 iPod Dock comes in black and white. The radio only version adds other colors including silver, blue and red. I've had the white one for a while and I've been pretty happy with it. This Black Etón Sound 100 iPod Dock is very similar, but loses points for the non-black speaker face. As a stand-alone radio this device is average. But the stellar iPod dock integration makes this unit a cut above and one you must consider.
Without the iPod dock the unit ranges from being $30 to $50 less than this model. I don't believe it's worth getting this unit without the iPod dock. Still, they have been having periodic sales for the stand-alone model in the $30 range, which is very hard to pass up.
Eton Sound 100 AM/FM Radio, Silver
There are many iPod radios and alarm clocks on the market which may be able to compete against the Sound 100 iPod on price. The competition does not come close on engineering.
The remote allows you to completely control your iPod! That means menu control and navigation in addition to the standard FF, RW, PLAY, STOP, and PAUSE functions. This is so simple, yet few devices have this ability. The Line-in and auxiliary jacks can connect other MP3 players (Creative, Zune) sans the menu control.
The speaker is monaural, but optimized to prevent distortion. At the highest volume the sound won't hiss. If you like modern design, the Eton is one of the best looking. It is sleek, COMPACT and light. Wish this guy was all-black, but I can live with the silver toned speaker.
Most of the shortcomings are from the radio aspect of this device. The internal AM antenna is below average. You can use an external one, and most users will need to.
The features could be better. There are only 10 programmable station presets. The RDS broadcast data is only 8 characters at a time. The screen is hard to read; you have to be right in front of it. There are no external RCA, speaker or subwoofer jacks, only line out. There is no EQ, treble or bass control and no way to adjust the backlight.
This radio came out in January 2007, well into the HD radio era. Only 10 presets? Why no speaker or subwoofer jacks? Why didn't they add Short Wave or HD capability?
If you only need an alarm clock radio, there are better options. This unit is above average on FM but below average on AM. Competing products by Sangean, BA and Sony have higher ratings at this price.
Sangean WR-2 Digital AM/FM Tabletop Radio, Black
Sangean WR-2 Digital AM/FM Tabletop Radio, White
Boston Acoustics Receptor Clock Radio (Platinum)
Sony XDR-S3HD HD Radio
At the present time, there is also a larger 2 speaker version which will be widely released within a month. Some may opt to get that one, but on sale this is still a great unit to own.Pros
+ Remote control functions are very well integrated with the iPod!
+ Very nice iPod serial interface for digital sound quality
+ Line-in and auxiliary jacks for MP3 players and other devices
+ Good speaker sound with surprising bass
+ Shielding protects the radio from interference
+ Battery backup possible for power outages
+ Nice alarm clock function
+ Nice looking design in a small and LIGHT form factor
Cons
- Standard pricing means you should only be looking to get this on sale
- Many newer alternatives coming to market for those seeking the alarm clock feature
- Display light may be too bright for some when used as a bedroom alarm clock radio
- No equalizer; no treble or bass control
- Requires external antennae for good radio reception
- No RCA jacks or stereo connections for external speakers
- No Subwoofer connector - only standard stereo line out
- RDS only displays 8 characters at a time
- Backlight is not adjustable; you must be close to it to read it
If you are VERY picky about sound and want a nice compact iPod radio alarm clock, this unit is worth a look. Enjoy!

Do most iPod speaker systems look a little too modern (read: stale) for your decor? Turn to the Eton Sound 100 system, which pays tribute to the retro glamour of radios past with swooping, curved lines and a stylish front control panel. The radio is designed expressly for iPods, with an external docking station that holds and charges all iPods with 30-pin dock connectors, including the iPod 3G, iPod 4G, iPod photo, iPod video, iPod nano 1G and 2G, and iPod mini. Simply plop your iPod into the dock and you can enjoy all your favorite tunes and playlists within seconds--no additional connections required.
Eton is recognized internationally for the quality of its radios, which is why the company added a high-sensitivity digital Phased-Locked-Loop (PLL) AM/FM tuner to the Sound 100. The advanced circuitry not only searches instinctively for the strongest station, but also locks in the frequency once it finds the signal to guarantee superior clarity. As a result, the radio's reception is crystal clear whether you're listening to the ballgame, catching up on the news, or kicking back to some classic jazz. To make tuning quicker and easier, the radio also includes five AM and five FM station presets.
Audio-wise, the Sound 100 is equipped with a 3-inch, full-range, front-firing speaker that produces distortion-free, room-filling sound with a wide range of frequencies (80 Hz to 20 kHz). The 16-character, two-line LCD display, meanwhile, offers a viewing area of 2.4 by 0.98 inches (W x H), with a gentle blue backlight that won't keep you awake during the midnight hours. And despite the display's relatively small size, it still shows quite a bit of data, including the time, selected station, alarm status, sleep status, band, and preset information.
Unlike many iPod speaker systems, the Sound 100 also handily replaces your bedside clock radio, with alarm, sleep, and snooze controls. Among the options are 12- and 24-hour formats, an alarm that wakes to either the radio or a buzzer, a programmable sleep timer (between 15 and 90 minutes), and a 5-minute snooze duration. And even though the Sound 100 is designed for iPods, it also includes a 3.5 mm auxiliary input for connecting a separate MP3 player or personal CD player, along with a 3.5 mm auxiliary line out.
Additional features include an encoder volume control, a headphone jack for private listening, a battery backup function (requires two AA batteries), a remote control, a 360-degree pigtail FM antenna, a built-in external loop AM antenna, and rubber feet on the bottom to prevent scratching and movement. The Eton Sound 100 measures 8.27 by 4.53 by 5.1 inches (W x H x D), weighs 2.82 pounds, and carries a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
What's in the Box Eton Sound 100 iPod system, external iPod docking station, pigtail FM antenna, infrared remote control, pigtail FM antenna, AC adapter, user's manual.

Sylvania Portable iPod Dock Boom Box with AM/FM Radio (Blue) Review

Sylvania Portable iPod Dock Boom Box with AM/FM Radio (Blue)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The item I received was slightly different than the pictured item. Which was surprising since I bought it from Amazon. It wasn't too different though so I decided to keep it. It worked great for about 1 month then the AM radio stopped working and the stereo stopped charging my iPod. About 1 week later the speakers started to go fuzzy. If the item worked it would be great but it broke down before the first set of batteries even ran out.

RCA RP5500i Universal iPod Dock AM/FM Clock Radio Review

RCA RP5500i Universal iPod Dock AM/FM Clock Radio
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a sleek clock radio with a very handy way of plugging in your Ipod. You receive a whole set of Ipod base adapters so that you can use a variety of models. Having said that, be advised that this unit is not for those who will want to listen to radio very much. At first glance, this appears to be a digitally-tuned radio. And I think it might really be. The radio frequency number appears on the LED read-out as you tune. The huge problem is that there are no pre-sets. Each time you want to change stations, you must turn an incredibly sensitive thumb wheel. You must tune up and down each frequency very carefully. If you want an AM station at 1070, you must be very precise or you will land on 1060 or 1080. The same goes for FM. This radio is only for those who listen to only one station most of the time. With the other nice features, and the price, it is hard to understand why the engineers did not add pre-sets for the radio frequencies.

SendStation PDLO-USB PocketDock Line Out and USB for all iPods Review

SendStation PDLO-USB PocketDock Line Out and USB for all iPods
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you could care less about how the music sounds coming out of your ipod, just so long as it drowns out the noise of the subway, then disregard this post ;) But the reason for getting the PocketDock is as simple as this - the data stream that provided by the docking port of the ipod sounds better to my ears than what comes out of the headphone port. The data coming off the ipod drive goes pretty much directly, unadulterated, out the docking port. Alternatively, The path from the hard drive to the headphone port has many more "twist and turns" before it comes out, poorly amplified, from the headphone port. By using this simple and inexpensive gizmo, you can get unadulterated access to the music on the ipod hard drive. It just sounds better to my ears. The only caveat is that you have to have a line level control device, i.e portable amplifier or sound attenuator (see other posts.) Any "music" coming out of the ipod docking port bypasses the volume control and as such can not be lowered or raised by using the ipod wheel. I personally have a little amp the size of a tin of mints that makes the music sound fantastic in comparison. A good pair of headphones, or sound isolation earphones completes the deal.
The PocketDock is also a cheaper alternative to something like the Jena Labs Cryo Dock which runs 10 to 20 time more expensive. The Jena sports a hard wire cable from the dock, and high quality cable at that. Does not sound a whole lot different IMHO.....
This little thing is an uncommonly inexpensive step onto the slippery slope of audiophile/gadget madness, but it sure is fun being slippery!

Sony iPod Clock Dock - White (ICFC1IPWHITE) Review

Sony iPod Clock Dock - White (ICFC1IPWHITE)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
UPDATE: Sony has updated this clock radio with a new model - the ICF-C1PMK2 - which has even better AM reception, a brighter display, and official iPhone compatibility.
Several weeks ago, I upgraded to a new 160GB iPod Classic. At the same time, I bought an XtremeMac Luna clock radio, which had good reviews. Unfortunately, I found that the Luna is incompatible with the new iPods - it cannot wake them from deep sleep to play the alarm in the morning. A call to XtremeMac got nothing more than a note that my issue had been forwarded to their technical team.
Without any reviews, I took a chance, and ordered the Sony ICF-C1iP iPod clock radio, and am I glad I did! The Sony is fully compatible with my iPod Classic, and Sony includes instructions for using the iPhone as well. And, the sound quality and radio performance is remarkably better than the Luna or other iPod clock radios I've tested.
Sony has done a great job with the ICF-C1iP. It is an upright design, with most of the unit behind the iPod, in a slanted design with controls at the top. The iPod dock accepts universal adapters, but they aren't really needed as Sony has an adjustable supporting plate behind the iPod.
Unlike the Luna, which attempts to duplicate the iPod menus on its display, the Sony ICF-C1iP includes a remote control that lets you completely control the iPod menus as if you were manipulating the scroll wheel. Quite impressive.
Sound quality is very good for a clock radio - with full bass and even midtones. Sony includes a simulated mode they call "Mega XPand" that in my experience made the music sound muddied and under-sampled. Your mileage my vary.
The blue-backlit clock is located in the iPod dock area, and 3 brightness levels are available. In my experience, even the lowest setting is a bit too bright, but not enough to disturb me at night. I wish that the display were slightly larger, although the high contrast lets me see the time without my glasses from a reasonable distance.
And, unlike most iPod clock radios, the radio reception is outstanding - with an external AM antenna provided. The unit has dual alarms, which can be set to iPod (you can even select a wakeup volume), Radio, or Buzzer.
On the downside, the battery backup for the buzzer alarm and clock is a small expensive lithium battery. And, if your relying on just the buzzer to wake you up it's not very loud. You also have to be careful when changing the alarms to make sure that you don't accidentally turn the alarm off. But all of these are minor issues. However, these are all very minor issues that don't detract from the unit overall.
All in all, in my experience, this is the best iPod clock radio you can buy.

Put an end to annoying alarms and rise and shine to the music you love. The ICF-C1iP iPod(R) dock lets you set two separate alarms, with the option of waking to your iPod, the radio or a buzzer. Adjusting the time is automatic-all you have to do is choose your time zone and the dock does the rest. Built-in stereo speakers with MEGAXpand technology are loud and crisp, and a full-function remote control is included for changing tracks from across the room. An adjustable backstop fits all iPod models.

Altec Lansing XM3120 Docking/Speaker System for Audiovox Express and Delphi Roady XT Review

Altec Lansing XM3120 Docking/Speaker System for Audiovox Express and Delphi Roady XT
Average Reviews:

I was uncertain at first if the quality of sound from this small system would do the XM radio justice. I was very impressed after I hooked up the system and heard the quality sound radiate from the Altec system.
I decided on Altec due to its size (bigger Boomboxes are available but space hogs). Its stylish design fits nicely on my bookshelf and it's clean design goes well with any decor.
One thing purchasers need to be aware of is that the antenna needs to be placed close..really close, to a window to receive the satellite signal. I have'nt found anything negative to say about this system, well done Altec Lansing. I'm giving it 4 stars simply for the fact I would have liked to seen more user controls on the system.

Griffin TCENTNOFI TuneCenter Home Media Center for iPod Review

Griffin TCENTNOFI TuneCenter Home Media Center for iPod
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this simply as a means to have an easier means to connect my iPod to the stereo (easier than the mini-stereo jack). It does this, of course. As a bonus, it also has a perfectly serviceable remote. The remote is not a lot of use if you're scrolling through hundreds of artist or album names as it doesn't approach the speed of moving with the click-wheel but, the for on/off, pause/play, it is terrific. The capability to play video out to the TV or make menu selections via TV isn't really important to me but, I've played with them and they work fine.
Word of note: I had to do a little online research to discover a slight fault in the product. If you turn the volume down to far on the unit itself, you may experience signal distortion. If you keep the volume up on the TuneCenter, and use the volume on your amplifier, the sound is fine (though, I'm no audiophile).
Overall - price/features/function - bargain!

The Griffin 9802-TCENTNOFI TuneCenter with Wi-Fi Home Media Center for iPod attaches to your television and stereo for viewing photos, watching video, and listening to your iPod music library or Internet radio. With the included 14-button remote, this unit turns your iPod into a complete home media center, requiring only that you dock your iPod in TuneCenter, and let the entertainment begin.
Griffin's TuneCenter features the ability to display iPod playlists and song information on your TV screen, taking music sharing to a whole new level by allowing the whole room to see at a glance the song title, artist, album and progress of the current song. TuneCenter's remote allows you to navigate through your iPod's entire library, as well as choose your preferences such as shuffle and repeat modes, and EQ. You can use the TuneCenter's remote to skip forward and backward, choose the next or previous song, browse playlists and more -- all without getting up off the couch -- which makes this the ultimate solution for taking full control of your iPod.
This Griffin home media center also expands your musical resources by providing access to Internet radio stations. By simply plugging the TuneCenter into your network you can choose from thousands of free channels, ranging from quiet atmospheres to things that don't seem to even qualify as music, all with slick, on-screen navigation. For added convenience, the 9802-TCENTNOFI is Wi-Fi capable, so you can hook it in with your network without the hassle of having to run cables, making it even more portable in case you want to take your media system to a friend's house for a party.
The Griffin TuneCenter, however, makes better use of your TV screen than just through the displaying of song lists. This unit also lets you display your iPod's photos on the large screen, as well as play movies from your iPod video on your home entertainment system. When it comes to movies and photos, bigger really is better, especially when you are talking about your own works of art. The TuneCenter lets you display slideshows of your latest vacation and special events, or provides you with the most compact business presentation system ever. Just choose a slideshow and a soundtrack to go with it and let fly, all while using the convenient remote control to skip forward and backward, or pause to emphasize a special point.
The Griffin 9802-TCENTNOFI is compatible with all dockable iPods, including: 4th-generation iPod and iPod photo, iPod mini, 1st and 2nd-generation iPod Nano, and 5th-generation iPod video models. This system includes an S-video and a composite video output for connecting to your TV, an RCA left and right audio output for connecting to your stereo or home entertainment center's speakers, an Ethernet RJ45 10-100base T connection and an internal 802.11b wireless card for hooking up to your network. This is a great product save for one important feature: The CD player works well, the Ipod cradle is child-friendly, and the pink color is just fantastic for my girls; unfortunately, it does not charge my Ipod Nano (4th generation) 8GB.
I called the manufacturer and they said they only supported charging the Ipod Nano up to the 2nd generation.
I wish the product description includes this most important fact.
So, I had to return the product for full refund.

Zune Dock Review

Zune Dock
Average Reviews:

I received this item as a gift and, out of the box, it is little more than a sleek decorative puck. In other words, the dock does not include *any* cables, not even the Zune sync cable. Oh, it will hold the Zune upright though. It will also hold the Zune remote (sold *separately*.)
Once I collected the cables I needed (sync, plus either A/V or 3.5 to 3.5) the dock is working fine. I have nothing against the product, I just wish it came with at least the basic accessories out of the box.

The Zune dock elegantly displays your Microsoft Zune media player anywhere in your home or office for easily customizable media access. The dock features a pair of built-in outputs for maximum versatility: a connector port for syncing and charging your Zune, and an audio/video output with a built-in audio amplifier. The connector port is a handy option for people who want to sync or charge their Zune without fumbling under the desk for the sync cable, as the cable instead plugs right into the dock. The A/V port, meanwhile, lets you connect the dock to a stereo system or TV for full-featured playback. In both cases, all you have to do is drop your Zune into the dock and it will charge, sync, or playback via the connected devices--no extra connections required. Plus, the dock includes an integrated IR receiver for use with the Zune wireless remote (sold separately). The IR receiver and remote give you quick access to your current playlist, as well as full control over menu navigation and volume. The dock even includes a small built-in slot that holds the remote--a convenient and stylish way to store the remote when not in use. As with all Zune accessories, the dock is backed by a 1-year warranty.

Belkin TuneCommand AV Dock with Remote for iPod with Dock Connector (White) Review

Belkin TuneCommand AV Dock with Remote for iPod with Dock Connector (White)

I got this a few days ago, got the cheapest Monster brand cables out there, which were still a significant upgrade from the cheapos I'd had, and, well, I love it!!
It's true, you can't see the iPod menu on your tv, but it is liberating to have your entire cd collection (in my case, 15 days worth of continuous music on my iPod!) hooked up to your stereo and at your fingertips. With your iPod constantly charging, ready to head out the door with you fully charged at any time.
I've found the sound quality with the Monster cables quite excellent, and the remote to work well. I can be located in my multi-story apartment far away from the stereo, on a different floor from where it's located (cooking in the kitchen for example!), and I can use the radio remote to skip songs.
It's disapponting that Belkin didn't make this compatible with 220 volt electricity for travel in Europe, but for those of you in the States, I highly recommend it. I run mine off a transformer here in Belgium, and really like it!

Griffin AirDock Docking Station for iPod w/RF Remote Review

Griffin AirDock Docking Station for iPod w/RF Remote

This is a very nice looking product that I bought because of that and its A- rating on iLounge.
What I found was that the audio quality was poor, presumably because the dock has another (and not very good) amplification stage so volume can be adjusted via the remote. Not even close to the quality you get from a dock which just takes the line level signal straight from the iPod via the dock connector.
And each time you play the iPod, the volume level reverts to the dock's relatively low default level, so using it in an audio system means adjusting level (on the dock or on the audio system) every time.
I regret having purchased this unit.

Homedics DP-300 DocknParty iPod Docking Station White with interchangeable faces Review

Homedics DP-300 DocknParty iPod Docking Station White with interchangeable faces

It looks good, but it sounds terrible! I love that it can change colors to match your iPod, but a pretty package doesn't do much good if the sound quality stinks. The music comes out all distorted and crackly! Rather like a cheap radio trying to tune into a station too far away. We tried my iPod Nano and my husband's iPhone, both sounded terrible.

Griffin TuneFlex AUX w/Dock Connector for iPod Review

Griffin TuneFlex AUX w/Dock Connector for iPod

This product has been updated. Griffin has come out with the TuneFlex AUX 2 version. It is much better (see my review of it below)
TuneFlex AUX
-------------------
Plain and simple, don't bother with this product. It pales in comparison to the updated model. This model shifts around and isn't as clean looking as the new model. It also doesn't always charge my iPod Classic...which didn't charge properly for a lot of auto chargers (I tried about 5 different ones). Just skip this product and get the new version...it is worth the extra money. Read my review of the updated model below:TuneFlex AUX 2 Review:
-------------------
This is a good product, probably the best auto charging dock available (I've tried quite a few). I own an iPod Classic 80GB (and iPhone 3G) and it charges and plays them just fine. The product arm itself is strong and doesn't move a bit. The holding dock itself (comes with a variety of docks for all your iPods) allows you to rotate it. This does move. It's stiff at first, but once you break it in it will start twisting a bit on a large iPod. Nano's probably won't budge at all. It's not horrible, it probably rotates about 10 degrees in either direction when I take turns. It usually goes back though, so it isn't the end of the world.
I will say the holders themselves, while there are many to choose from, really don't have much support for the product. There is no backing to them at all (except one which doesn't appear to fit my iPod classic, iPhone, or nano). No worries though, the iPod still manages to stay in place without a problem (and they ride in a Pontiac G8).
Overall, 4 out of 5 stars. If it was solid as a rock, I would give it 5...but it's pretty close. Again, if you own a Nano, this thing probably won't budge at all. The iPod Classic will rotate a little, but not much. If you don't want it to move at all, I suggest getting a Belkin TuneDok (goes in a cup holder) or a vent clip model.

Philips DC199B/37 iPod Docking Audio 2.1 30-Watt System Review

Philips DC199B/37 iPod Docking Audio 2.1 30-Watt System

I was looking for a replacement to my 8-year-old (annoying beep, beep) alarm clock. I also wanted to get speakers for my laptop. So, I thought, let's get an all-in-one. I was originally going to get the iHome IH9 Alarm Clock for iPod (Black), because of the iPod attachment. However, I chose this product over it because 1) you can put the speakers anywhere, 2) it has better sound (in my opinion), 3) you can also plug in a USB stick or other peripheral that has MP3 or WMA files. It's sound is good for something so small, and even has a built-in subwoofer for bass, and for added bass has "Dynamic Bass Boost" which has great response. Remote control works good, as does the iPod dock, and the USB drive. The FM tuner doesn't work that well for me, then again, I didn't buy it for that. Has an alarm and sleep function, both are handy. When the alarm goes off, the music turns on gradually to a max of 12, which is pretty loud. So if you're one of those people that, to wake up, one must also have to wake the dead, I recommend putting war sounds on your iPod for this purpose. Keeps track of time pretty well, a concern since one of the reviewers for the aforementioned product mentioned that on his review (of the iHome). Good sound, good looks, that's what you're looking at. If you can pay the price, this is a good 2.1 solution. I plan on keeping mine around for a long time. Thank you for checking this review. God bless you richly.

Emerson iTone iP500 Portable Audio System for iPods (Silver) Review

Emerson iTone iP500 Portable Audio System for iPods (Silver)
Average Reviews:

I went for this speaker system after looking at lots of others. Overall I am very happy with this item. Sounds good, easy to use, lightweight. My only complaint is that the clip for the nano will not fit. The nano will fit in the clip, but the nano will not attach to the plug with the clip on it. The nano is secure for the most part, but if you plan on doing a lot of traveling with the speakers you should procede with caution. If you are looking for good sound and a good price, then this is it.
