Enjoy a cool, crisp sound while adding to your bedroom's laid-back feel withthe SpeckTone Retro iPod speaker system from Speck Products. The system's primaryappeal stems from its sleek and stylish mod design, which consists of a high-glosslacquered black wood cabinet, a backlit "green glow" volume knob, and a housing thatlooks straight out of a '50s hipster catalog. But there's far more to the Retro system thanlooks, as it also includes a built-in iPod docking station that accepts virtually all"dockable" iPods, including the iPod 4G, iPod video, iPod photo, iPod mini, and iPodnano. As a result, you can charge and play your iPod at the same time. The system'sauxiliary input, meanwhile, works with older iPods and other digital media players, including personal CD players, MP3 players, and any other device with a 3.5 mmheadphone jack.
Audio-wise, the Retro boasts analog circuitry, a pair of 3-inch drivers, and a 4-inchbottom subwoofer that combine to deliver a rich, dynamic sound with uncompromisingquality. Other details include the ability to accommodate many iPod protective cases, atotal power output of 28 watts, and a set of angled legs with soft rubber strips toprevent slipping. An ideal tabletop system for the bedroom, office, or kitchen, theSpeckTone Retro measures 14 by 5 by 6.5 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 90- day warranty.

iHome iP9 Speaker Dock with Clock Radio for iPod and iPhone (Silver) Review

iHome iP9 Speaker Dock with Clock Radio for iPod and iPhone (Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have searched hard to find the "perfect" iPod alarm clock. For me, the iHome iP9 comes closer than anything else I found, but it does have some very annoying flaws.
In my opinion, the best features are:
* The alarm can be set to wake to a random song on an "iHome" playlist on your iPod. Only Sanyo seems to have a product with a similar feature, but I think theirs looks REALLY ugly.
* The backlight dimmer has 7 levels of brightness and can even be turned off.
* You can adjust the snooze time from 1 to 29 minutes in 1-minute increments.
* The alarm volume (for radio and iPod) gradually increases for "gentle" waking.
* The sound quality is quite good for such a small unit.
The things that annoy me about the unit are:
* The alarm set buttons are located directly behind the snooze bar, and hitting one of these buttons resets the alarm when the alarm is sounding. While the snooze bar is very big and has a bump that you can feel with your fingers, I fear that I will accidentally turn off my alarm one morning when just trying to snooze for a few more minutes.
* There is a beep when setting the alarm. While this offers audio confirmation of your alarm setting actions, it can be annoying if you are trying to set the alarm when your significant other is sleeping.
* The dial controls are cool in theory/aesthetic but are not so great in practice. It can be more time-consuming to use these to set the alarm time and other settings when compared to conventional buttons and a system where one sets the hour and minute independently. Also, the dials are mechanical (unlike an iPod) and lack an indent or other means for providing traction. So, your finger can slip, making them not so easy to turn. For this, I found a simple work-around: I stuck on each dial a small, round, self-adhesive, clear plastic bumper (something you can find in any hardware store). This makes it much easier to turn the dials, but it does not get around the fact that dials are not always the best interface.
* Personally, I find only the dimmest and off settings for the backlight to be of any use. Perhaps, the other backlight settings would be needed if the unit is placed in direct sunlight. However, I find them too bright, and it is very slightly annoying that I need to press the dimmer button to cycle through the 6 other "on" settings each time I turn the backlight off. While definitely better than some competing units whose backlight is always way too bright (e.g. the Sony ICF-CD3iP), even the dimmest setting can be rather bright in a totally dark room.
For me, the positive outweighs the negative when evaluating this unit as an iPod alarm clock. While not my primary usage (and paling in comparison to a dedicated home stereo), I found the sound on this unit to be surprisingly good when using the unit as an iPod speaker system for casual listening in a small room.

The iP9 is an innovative clock radio for iPhone and iPod designed to shield annoying iPhone/mobile phone GSM noise. This way, the airplane mode is not required, and you'll never miss a call again when your iPhone is docked. The iP9 has several unique features, including a remote control, AM/FM presets, EQ controls, and even 3D sound for an enhanced audio experience. The iP9 also allows you to wake to your custom iPod playlist at different times on different days, with iHome's 7-5-2 feature and programmable snooze settings. You'll also enjoy great sound around the clock with their Reson8 stereo speaker chambers.

iPod, iPhone, Radio, or Buzzer Alarm Wake to your docked iPod, the radio, or--if you must--a classic buzzer alarm. Whichever you choose, a gradual alarm feature gently raises the alarm volume, so it's not too jarring. Dual alarm lets you set separate wake times.

You can set separate wake times for weekdays and weekends, and you can wake to the playlist or song of your choice.

Programmable Snooze The iP9's programmable snooze feature allows you to set snooze intervals of 1 to 29 minutes, so you can milk every last second of sleep before you're late for work.

Sleep Features Drift off to your iPod, iPhone, or radio, with programmable sleep times of 120, 90, 60, 30, or 15 minutes. Gentle Sleep gradually decreases the music volume as you drift off to dreamland.

What's more, an Adjustable Sleep volume solves an age-old alarm clock problem, allowing you to select a comfortable "sleep" volume level without affecting the "wake to" or listening volume levels.

Play and Charge Your iPod or iPhone The iP9's universal dock plays and charges most docking iPod models (in addition to using them for alarms), along with the iPhone. So when you do finally wake up, your device will have a full charge as you head out the door.

DST Switch Switch to daylight savings time at the flick of a switch, rather than pushing buttons for that whole extra hour.

AM/FM Radio The iP9 delivers solid radio listening, complete with an external AM antenna for better reception. Save your favorite stations on the AM/FM presets.

Big Sound, Small Package The iP9 delivers powerful audio with stereo drivers in specially designed Reson8 speaker chambers.

Reson8 is iHome's through-body ported speaker chamber technology. Porting speakers gives better bass response characteristics and helps the iP9 deliver sound beyond its size.

Bass, treble, 3D, and balance controls let you further adjust the sound to your liking.

Auxiliary Input Connect external devices like MP3 or CD players to the rear auxiliary input for your enjoyment.

Full-Function Remote Control Enjoy convenient control from a distance with the included remote--control both radio and iPod functions.

What's in the Box iP9 Clock Radio and Audio System (Silver), remote control, docking inserts, AC power adapter, AM antenna and stand, and owner's manual.

Sylvania SIP220 iPod Dock Clock Radio with AM FM Tuner, LCD Alarm Clock Display and Full Function Remote Control (Black)
Average Reviews:

Don't get me wrong I love the design of this stereo/alarm, but that's about it. The sound from the speakers are high pitched (like cheap speakers), so the sound quality isn't very good. The light from the clock is pretty bright. It lights up my whole room and makes it hard to sleep. The alarm setting on isn't thought out. The music comes on blasting or if you set the bell on it, it sounds like a horn. If I would have had a chance to try it out before I purchased it. I don't think I would have bought it.. The honest truth.

RCA RC60i Docking Alarm Clock for iPod/iPhone Review

RCA RC60i Docking Alarm Clock for iPod/iPhone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Do not buy this product. After receiving this product, when I plugged it in to the wall the first time, a loud buzzing sound was made -- the radio wasn't on, just make a loud buzz. I returned it. The replacement didn't have the loud buzz but would occasionally freeze -- buttons wouldn't work, time would remain at a set time, and I would need to unplug it to reset it. Finally this past weekend after the latest "freezing" incident, it wouldn't turn back on after unplugging and replugging. Now I have a non-functioning bedside table decoration. And when it did work, the functionality was cumbersome and difficult. This item should really be recalled.

Audiovox CE609CR Thunder Clock Radio and Universal iPod and MP3 Player Docking Station

I just got off the phone with Audiovox customer service who say that this product has never been able to play anything more than an Ipod-- never had an RCA input jack, never had USB connection capability, and never had a memory card reader. If, as I did, you buy this product for any of its non-Ipod features, you will end up returning it. Someone from Amazon should read this and change the description!

Philips DC290/37 Docking Clock Radio for iPod/iPhone (Aluminium) Review

Philips DC290/37 Docking Clock Radio for iPod/iPhone (Aluminium)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this item to use in the bathroom so I could listen to music and keep an eye on the time in the mornings. The speakers sound really good. But the display is so dim (even on the brightest setting), the clock numbers are kind of small, and because of the mirror finish, the display is not easily visible. The build quality is nice - only the top plate and front grill are aluminum.
The first night, I tried it out as an alarm clock. In the morning, my thought was that the snooze button was a little too stiff. The display legibility was not much of an issue when you're that close, but I still wish the digits were a little bigger. I'm making these comparisons to my regular alarm clock - the iHome iH9. Another nuisance was that because the alarm buttons are so close to the snooze button, that if you accidentally hit it when the alarm is going off, the snooze button no longer works.
Now it's back in the bathroom, being used as a good-looking music player that's a little selfish about revealing the time.

Gently wake to your favorite iPod/iPhone tunes or FM radio, complete with separate weekday/weekend alarm times. Or simply enjoy your music with this docking clock radio from Panasonic. This stylish system is decked out in a sleek aluminum case, for looks to match any room.

Start the Day Your Way
Play and Charge Your iPhone/iPodEnjoy your favorite tunes while your iPhone/iPod gets a charge. The dock fits most docking iPod/iPhones, and while you're listening, it provides a charge--no need to worry about your battery running out.

Digital FM TunerTune in to FM radio to get your morning news, traffic reports, or other live broadcasts. Presets let you quickly access stored favorites.

Rich, Clear SoundThe DC290/37 packs 10 watts RMS total output power. The Dynamic Bass Boost feature maximizes your music enjoyment by enhancing the low end no matter the volume setting--this is similar to "loudness" features on other systems, allowing you to get consistent, full-range sound even at lower listening levels. Panasonic also lets you dial it in with "Digital Sound Control," or preset EQ curves for different musical styles (Jazz, Rock, Pop, and Classical), so you can get the most out of your music.

Dual Alarm ClockWhatever your alarm needs, the DC290/37's ready. A dual alarm feature lets you set different alarm times for weekdays and weekends, or vary the alarm settings for you and a companion. Forget the hassle of fiddling with different alarm times every single night, and set it up for your lifestyle.

You can wake to an FM radio station or your favorite iPhone/iPod tunes from a docked device. A "gentle wake" feature gradually increases the alarm volume to wake you without jarring you out of sleep.

Auxiliary InputPanasonic's "MP3 link" connection (a 3.5-mm auxiliary input) lets you plug in your other MP3 players, CD players, or pretty much anything with a line out. So if you have other devices besides iPods/iPhones, or non-docking iPods such as the shuffle models, you'll still get to enjoy it over the system's speakers.

RCA RC65i Alarm Clock Radio with iPod/iPhone Dock (Black) Review

RCA RC65i Alarm Clock Radio with iPod/iPhone Dock (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The first thing you notice about the unit is the flat front, rather stark but common nowadays in i-docking devices. A slide-away dock is a neat feature if/when you don't need to dock your phone. The second thing that stands out is the drab color scheme. I'm no fan of battleship gray... The aluminum mesh front is fine but the shiny plastic panel on top calls out for a more imaginative color scheme. Maybe an unfair quibble.
I looked at a lot of units before choosing this one. At this price range most were cheap looking or worse cheap-feeling. This unit is quite solid and it works as advertised, all the features I wanted, in a tidy package that doesn't take up too much space on a bedside table. Where things fall apart a little for me is in the human interface. Nothing to make me return it but I wish I had seen/touched one before I bought it.
Pros:
1. Radio and sound quality are good. The rear of the cabinet sports a small bass speaker with a tuned port firing on either side. Volume is fine for a bedside radio and sound is good if not hi-fi.
2. Excellent iPhone (3GS in my case) compatibility. Occasionally the phone gives one of Apples patented "This device is not designed to work with iPhone" messages but I bet it's a connector-mating thing because the two ARE compatible and work as advertised. You can wake to iPhone music, to a buzzer or to radio.
3. The dock accepts Apple Universal adapters. I got an adapter (white sadly) with the case I bought for my iPhone and it makes for a nice trim fit that supports the phone well while docked. Slides away neatly when not in use too.
Cons (No deal breakers but things I feel are less than perfect):
1. The front face is blank of buttons except for 4 curious touch-activated switches top-right that select basic modes: radio, ipod etc. These are a little uncertain in operation but not bad. I imagine they could be troublesome for thicker fingers? Time-set, alarm set, station presets and other less-used controls are behind the flat front on the main body of the unit. Pretty standard stuff. The most often used controls (volume, snooze, tune etc. ) are on the top edge, in fact they ARE the top edge of the unit. They can be hard to tell apart in the dark but sense memory is a wonderful thing. Undocking the iPhone is a little awkward because your natural instinct is to undock the iPhone with a finger as a lever on the top edge just where the large Snooze bar is located.
2. Setting the wake times is easy enough but the nap and sleep modes are counterintuitive to setup and even worse to cancel.
3. The blurb boasts of "auto-timeset" but don't be fooled into thinking of atomic clock signals from Denver or sideband information from a PBS station. Basically they set the clock at the factory and inserted AA batteries to keep it going. When you first plug it in you choose your US timezone and it magically seems to know the time. Remove the batteries however and it's flashing digits like every other clock :-(
4. The clock display has two brightness levels though some may think even the dim setting too bright at night. More troubling for me is the limited viewing angle. Like most displays this one is designed for maximum clarity and contrast when viewed from above. Sadly when lying in bed most people will be either level or below the line of the display, making it harder to read.
So that's it. Not entirely comprehensive but hopefully useful. Regarding price, I think it's very reasonable for the quality of the unit but I would certainly like a more imaginitive color scheme :-)

The RC65i clock radio by RCA is the perfect companion in the morning. The clock radio features a large LED display that makes it easy to see and read in the morning. The clock features automatic time set that will set the clock to one of seven different time zones once clock is plugged in. Simply flip the switch to select your current time zone. The iPod docking station easily connects your iPod to the clock radio and is compatible with most iPods including the 3G iPhone. The elegant design with thin undercut and chrome trim treatment complements the iPhone 3G and allows for placement beyond the bedroom. The retractable docking drawer easily tucks away when iPod is not docked on the radio, creating a clean and chic look. Enjoy the quality of the high performance sound system that plays your music with clearly with crisp sound. Set the alarm to wake you up to the buzzer, to your favorite radio station or your iPod. The programmable sleep feature will play the radio up to 2-hours before automatically turning off, allowing you to gently fall asleep to the radio. The clock radio has two different alarm settings that are perfect for couples who wake at different times or for those who need a second reminder to wake in the morning. Enjoy the Graduwake ramp up alarm system that gently wakes you from deep sleep by gradually increasing the volume of the alarm. You'll no longer have a loud, rude awakening in the morning. The nap function can be set as a quick alarm for a short interval of sleep without disturbing the alarm settings. The 'No Worry" battery backup keeps the clock radio working during power outages. Atlantis Multi-Media System & Video Output for iPod - SF-1001 Review

Atlantis Multi-Media System and Video Output for iPod - SF-1001
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have tried the Altec Lansing iM600 firewire charging AND usb docking station, only to find out that my ipod touch 2nd generation does not work properly in it. I was very bummed out, as I had already had to return 2 other ipod docking stations! I found out that the iPod touch 2nd gen. is pretty much too new of a product for most of the current docking stations out there. Very few will actually charge the iPod touch 2 gen, and neither will this model. BUT, this was not my reason for purchasing the Atlantis. The Altec Lansing sounded pretty great, but was much more money and did not work for my iPod. I bought this at Sam's club for $29, so I don't know why it is listed on here for $169......but WOW it is a great deal for the price. The remote control is great, it has pretty powerful sound for a small boombox. It does not have a rechargeable battery in it, but I will rarely take it with me anywhere. Here are the pros and cons:
PROS
1. GREAT VALUE!!
2. GREAT SOUND, NO CRACKLING, FOR A SMALL SPEAKER IT PUTS OUT SOME GOOD SOUND.
3. SOUND FILLS MY KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM.
4. REMOTE CONTROL IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND CONTROLS THE IPOD SONGS TOO
5. CAN PLUG IN USB OR SD CARD INTO PORT AND WILL PLAY MP3'S AS WELL
6. ALARM WILL TURN ON WITH IPOD AND SOUND STARTS GRADUALLY WHEN ALARM GOES OFF, SO YOU ARE NOT JOLTED OUT OF BED WITH A LOUD SOUND SUDDENLY
7. VOLUME WILL DEFINITELY GO REALLY LOW TO SILENT IF YOU WANT SO THAT YOU CAN FALL ASLEEP---ALSO HAS SLEEP MODE IF YOU LIKE TO FALL ASLEEP TO MUSIC SOFTLY
CONS
1. TAKES BATTERIES IF NOT PLUGGED IN. DOES NOT HAVE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACK
2. MAY NOT SOUND AS GOOD AS A BOSE OR HIGHER END MODEL, BUT DEFINITELY SOUNDS BETTER THAN THE IHOME CLOCK MODELS, AND AS GOOD AS MOST $150 MODELS.
3. IF YOU LIKE TO BLAST YOUR MUSIC, THIS MAY NOT HAVE THE GREAT SPEAKER QUALITY TO DO SO WITHOUT BLOWING THE SPEAKERS, BUT IF YOU LIKE TO LISTEN TO LOUD OR MODERATELY LOUD MUSIC THE SOUND QUALITY IS GREAT.
4. WILL NOT CHARGE IPOD TOUCH 2ND GEN ON THIS MODEL
I COULD PROBABLY LIST MANY MORE PROS!!! BEST $29 I SPENT

iHome iH24 Portable Alarm Clock and Speaker for iPod and MP3 Players (Purple) Review

iHome iH24 Portable Alarm Clock and Speaker for iPod and MP3 Players (Purple)
Average Reviews:

I think these speakers sound very good. I am a therapist who travels to my clients and use relaxing music with the therapy. The clock light is bright enough that you can see even in a pitch black room. My only complaints are 1) I had to pay an extra $6 and wait extra days to have iHome ship me the correct little piece of plastic adapter so my Nano would fit. You think they would at least include the right part that would fit the iPod as shown. 2) It would be nice if there were a soft case provided that would fit the speakers, AC adapter and iPod. I have to make one. Other than that the speakers are acceptable and I would recommend them if you don't need heavy bass.

This stylish iH24 portable iPod alarm clock is great for home or on the go and comes complete with a purple travel cover. Wake and Sleep to your favorite music while charging your iPod.

Play and Charge Your iPod The iH24's Universal dock plays and charges most docking iPod models (in addition to using them for the alarm). So when you do finally wake up, your device will have a full charge as you head out the door.
Wake and Sleep to your iPod Wake or drift off to your favorite music. If you'd prefer, the iH24 also has a buzzer alarm.
The device also uses a backup battery system to provide continuous alarm operation and clock settings in the event of a power failure.
DST Switch Switch to Daylight Savings Time at the flick of a switch, rather than pushing buttons for that whole extra hour.
Plenty of Sound The iH24 makes use of iHome's specially designed Reson8 speaker chambers. Reson8 is iHome's through-body ported speaker chamber technology. Porting speakers gives better bass response characteristics, and helps the iH24 deliver sound beyond its size.
The EXB button gives you the option of enhanced bass response, for a little more low-end.
Travel-Ready The iH24 operates on included universal power adaptor (US, EU) for international travel or 4 AA batteries (not included) for even more portability. A convenient travel lock prevents accidental switching on and depletion of batteries, and a flip-back protective travel cover is also included.
Auxiliary Input The iH24's Aux/MP3 line-in jack lets you listen to other audio sources like MP3 or CD players.

iHome iH41 Pivoting Alarm Clock for iPod (Black) Review

iHome iH41 Pivoting Alarm Clock for iPod (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been looking around for a very long time for an iHome that would allow me to listen to music and watch my movies.
Since the Touch has you watch your movies horizontally, this dock is probably the best dock out there. Having it pivot to lay on it's side is most innovative idea I've seen so far. Who would have thought something that simple could make your Touch worth so much more! Having said that, the clock will also change when you pivot it on it's side as well, which is a very nice touch. Also, this WILL charge your Ipod.
There are 3 light settings for the clock. Bright, medium, and low. I usually set mine to low at night so that it doesn't keep my room dimly lit while I'm sleeping. One thing to realize is that the clock display isn't very big, so if you have a night stand right next to your bed, it probably won't bother you too much. I'm about 5 feet away from the clock, and I need to wear contacts or my glasses to see it. It's not an issue for me, however.
Of course, there's no radio on this dock, which wasn't a feature I was wanting anyway. For some it might be a big deal, but I just wanted this thing to play my songs and watch my movies, so I'm still satisfied with it.
Next up is the alarm. I've heard/read about the alarms on these going from very soft to annoyingly loud, but for this one, it doesn't get so loud to the point where you want to throw something at it. If your Ipod isn't plugged into it correctly, the dock will ring it's default alarm ringing. Unfortunately, the dock only has one alarm setting, whereas some of the others have two. Again, no big deal to me. The sleep and snooze button are separate, but are in a good spot where you don't have to look for it.
As for the sound, I was actually quite surprised at how good it was, even when blasted up. Even though it has the bass boost, you're not going to get a very big boom out of it. It's good enough to have it being played in a small room. Hearing your movies being played on this thing is very good as well. It still maintains everything in your movie the way you first heard it on your dvd player.
One aspect to take note of: I do have my Touch in the DLO jamjact, which requires some careful maneuvering to get it to dock correctly. Plus, it won't stand straight when it's in the jamjacket either. Of course, I just take it out when I need to, if I want it to fit exactly on the dock. Either way, it doesn't bother me.
The remote works very well, although I've found that I have to point it at directly in order for me to switch songs. I'm still not sure what the menu button does, however. I thought it would take you back to the main screen, but nothing happens.
In all, I'm very satisfied with this product. It charges your ipod (my Touch anyways--Haven't tested what else fits on it), plays your music/movies, it pivots so you can watch your movies, it's got 3 light settings for your clock, and it doesn't getting obnoxiously loud when it wakes you up in the morning. Look no further if you're wanting to have the best of both worlds for your Ipod Touch!
**UPDATE** 9/26/09
After having this guy for several months now, the alarm no longer works. Technically, it still does, but to elaborate, when I set the alarm to a certain time, it doesn't go off anymore. Instead, it goes off at random times now, which is really disappointing. Thankfully, it still charges and plays from my iPod touch, but seeing it lose it's alarm system forces me to give it a 3 star rating instead of a 5.

well, after receiving this item it stated not compatible w/Ipod touch 3rd generation and the pic showed an Ipod toouch. The description said it didn't work with Iphone or shuffle..........annoying after getting it. It is also very cheap looking and has no weight to it at all which adds to it's cheapness, as far as workmanship goes. Would not reccomend.you always get what you pay for.

Memorex MI4703P Dual Alarm Clock Radio for iPod and iPhone (Black) Review

Memorex MI4703P Dual Alarm Clock Radio for iPod and iPhone (Black)

I bought this alarm clock for it's ease of operation and dimmer for the clock, I like almost everything about it except for one not so small thing...the alarm volume. It is NOT adjustable (at least as far as I can tell). It starts out at 20% of max volume for about 30 seconds, then goes to 70% max volume and stays that way! I'm going to try and contact the company to see if there's any way this can be fixed. I like to lay in bed and listen to music for a little while before I get up for the day, but NOT at 70% volume...if not for this "flaw" I would have given it 5 stars.

Memorex Dual Alarm Clock Radio for iPhone/iPod Review

Memorex Dual Alarm Clock Radio for iPhone/iPod
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'd been primarily looking for a speaker/charging dock for my new iPhone. However, when my alarm clock began acting up, I took the opportunity to look for a new one that was iPhone compatible.
I initially purchased an Emerson iC2196 iPod Dock Alarm Clock Radio. It was quickly returned to Big Box Store for refund. Not only was it not actually compatible with the iPhone (my bad), it was a real piece of junk!
After some research, I decided to try this radio. At twice the price, I had high hopes that it would be 'the one'. Well, I couldn't be more pleased. The following things highlight the pros and cons of the unit so far.
Pros:
1. Alarms are easy to set and customize.
2. Alarm can be set to Radio, iPod (iPhone), or Line In.
3. Alarm volume level is adjustable.
4. Comes with a very easy to follow, yet thorough, instruction manual in both English and Spanish.
5. Radio presets are easy to set and use.
6. With five brightness levels, the display won't keep you up at night.
7. Includes Sleep and Nap functions.
8. Snooze button is huge so you don't have to open your eyes to locate it.
9. Despite it's relatively small size, the unit has beautiful sound that you don't generally get out of alarm clocks.
Cons:
1. The included remote is pitifully small and it is not intuitively obvious how to use it.
2. Contrary to another review, the alarm cannot be set to a single day. Options include 7 days, weekdays, or weekends.
3. Unit does not remember what track to play from iPod/iPhone. You must turn on the alarm, power the clock unit off, and set the track on your iPod/iPhone you want to wake to before docking it. This can be a more tedious process late at night than it's worth.
4. Similarly, if you want to go to sleep listening to one playlist, you will have to use that playlist to wake to.
5. You have to power the unit off to set the nap feature. Don't forget to turn it back on!
Bottom line:
I'm impressed. This unit is feature rich without being too complicated to use. And the price is very good for what you get. It gets four stars instead of five because I wish each feature had it's own button instead of a set/preset and sleep/nap button.

Sony ICFCS10iP Speaker Dock with Alarm Clock and Radio for iPod/iPhone (Black) Review

Sony ICFCS10iP Speaker Dock with Alarm Clock and Radio for iPod/iPhone (Black)
Average Reviews:

Like the previous reviewer, I also went to a brick and mortar store to buy the previous model, which was on the display, but the inventory was for this unit, billed as a slightly newer replacement unit by Sony. This unit fixes two complaints from the previoous model: 1) the Iphone no longer sits above the snooze button; 2) the clock is far less cluttered and the display is larger and easier to see.
What really amazed me when I took it home and set it up was the sound quality. I currently have the Ihome IP9 and IP99. One of my IP9 units failed after about 10 months, so I bought this Sony unit to replace it. This unit is so much better in sound quality than the Ihome! I can't believe how great the sound is from such a small and inexpensive device. In addition, my Iphone fits snugly into this unit without any adapters, and I do not have to remove my protective case to properly dock it. I think Sony fixed the majority of complaints quite successfully with this new unit, and I am very pleased to have purchased it. I strongly recommend it over the Ihome units.
