Audiovox SIRCK1 Sirius Satellite Radio Car Dock with Built-In Wireless FM Transmitter Review

Audiovox SIRCK1 Sirius Satellite Radio Car Dock with Built-In Wireless FM Transmitter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I would highly advice that if you choose to get Satellite Radio, you should get it professional installed. I'm experimenting, so I went with the cheaper option. It works pretty well.
You should note that you'll have a few wires sticking out everywhere, and it will look kind of cheap, but if you can get over that, it works well. It has a cradle, a mounting bracket that can stick to the dash, and a mini FM transmitter so you can listen to Sirius through your radio. The whole system works quite well and does the job as best as it can. It's easy to and simple to setup, so that should not be a problem. The sound quality is a little weak, but it does the job.
Besides looking kind of cheap, which is not the docking kits fault, there are two main problems. One is that the mount uses screws or adhesive. I'm not going to drill randomly into my car, so I used the adhesive. The adhesive works very well, but I worry that if I ever remove the mount, will it take chunks of my dash with it? I don't know, which would be really scary if I deeply cared for my car. The second problem is that there is no power supply for a wall socket. This means that if you don't fork over another fifty dollars, you'll have to do the setup in your car, while the car is running. This is truly cheap and annoying.
All in all, it works well for those on a budget or those not willing to commit fully to Sirius radio.

The base has a swivel ball for adjustment of the dock, and it can be mounted to your dash using the included adhesive strip or included screws. The antenna has a magnetic base that enables you to mount it on your car's roof or trunk; it connects to the docking cradle with a 20-foot antenna cable.

I wanted an XM radio for the longest time. I opted for the Audiovox Xpress RC model with the home dock. It was well worth the extra money I spent on the Xpress and the Home dock. Now I have XM at my disposal in the car and in my home. It's so easy to transfer from the home to the car. I LOVE IT!!!

Audiovox XC9 XM Satellite Radio Car Kit Review

Audiovox XC9 XM Satellite Radio Car Kit

Easy to install and set up. Very useful if you alternate between two cars and don't want to buy two receivers. Have seen other receivers and I think the Audiovox reciever and docking bay is the best. Does not need to be hardwired into the car (although it can be) and very user-friendly. I would recommend this brand receiver and docking bay.

Audiovox SIRHK1 Sirius Satellite Radio Home Dock Review

Audiovox SIRHK1 Sirius Satellite Radio Home Dock
Average Reviews:

There isn't terribly much to write about a docking station. The real deal is the receiver and the service itself. First off the receiver is great! I love the bright big orange screen, and that I can save 20 songs and it will alert me when those songs are being played. The buttons are easy to push, and this PNP is very durable.
The service is truly amazing, over 60 commercial free music channels along with sports, talk, news, and entertainment!
I enjoy listening to NFL teams that I could not normally listen to since I live hundreds of miles away. A number of college teams are also on Sirius, and NHL games.
I would reccomend you find out more by surfing Amazon, going to Sirius.com or siriusbackstage.com

Audiovox XMC-10 XM Second Vehicle Kit for Xpress XM7 Satellite Radio Receiver Review

Audiovox XMC-10 XM Second Vehicle Kit for Xpress XM7 Satellite Radio Receiver
Average Reviews:

This is a good kit to have for the Audiovox Xpress. Besides installing it in a vehicle, you can actually use it in the house. Just use a small 12VDC power supply for the source power.
J & R is a top notch supplier. I've shopped there for more than 20 years and always been satisfied with their selection, pricing, and customer service.

The Audiovox XMC-10 XM Second Vehicle Kit for Xpress XM7 Satellite Radio Receiver lets you bring your Audiovox Xpress XM7 receiver with you into another vehicle, and share your satellite radio with friends and family wherever you go. This second vehicle kit is easy to use, and lets you share a single XM satellite subscription across multiple cars.
The Audiovox XMC-10 provides you with a low-profile docking station for the Audiovox Xpress XM7 receiver, and requires this receiver (purchased separately) in order to provide you with XM satellite radio. The XMC-10 features a swivel bracket so you can mount your docking station at the most optimal usage angle, and a cigarette lighter 12-volt to 5-volt DC power adapter to provide power and even recharge your XM7 receiver. This unit includes the smallest available magnetic roof-mount XM satellite antenna, and it even comes with a CLA female socket that can be hardwired to your car's battery in case you do not have an open car cigarette lighter.
The Xpress XM7 receiver has the primary controls for your XMC-10 vehicle kit with its own buttons, including display, search, menu, rotary/select knob, power/IR eye, memory, preset/direct, jump, and 10 presets/numbers. The display button lets you choose between artist, song, title and data service info, while memory lets you store up to 20 song/title/artist combinations so that later you can look at something that caught your interest. Not only does this receiver provide plenty of music and radio stations with dynamic means of searching for desired content by artist, genre, or others, but it can provide you with a stock ticker that allows you to monitor up to 20 stocks, plus it offers information extras so you can follow things like the scores for your favorite sports teams. Furthermore, you can set your XM7 receiver to automatically turn on and off when power comes on or goes off, and can have it turn off via a sleep timer that can be set to 15, 30 or 45 minutes, or even 1, 2 or 3 hours. For added convenience, the XM7 has an IR remote control that can operate most of its features, with buttons that act the same as those on the receiver.
The Audiovox XMC-10 vehicle kit's docking station can attach to your car's stereo system via either an audio cable, or via the Audiovox XMFM-1 FM direct adapter. Either way, crystal clear satellite radio with over 150 digital channels gets piped directly through your car stereo. This unit even includes an auxiliary audio input so you can use it to connect an MP3 player or other peripheral audio device to your car stereo, and is backed by a manufacturer's limited 12-month warranty.
What's in the Box The Audiovox XMC-10 cradle, a swivel bracket, a 12-volt to 5-volt DC power adapter, an external magnetic satellite antenna, a CLA female socket, and an installation manual.

Audiovox SIR-HK3 Sirius Satellite Radio Home Kit for Sirius SIR-PNP3 Receiver Review

Audiovox SIR-HK3 Sirius Satellite Radio Home Kit for Sirius SIR-PNP3 Receiver
Average Reviews:

Did some initial research, chose this model based on other reviews. Shuttle this unit between my office and home, seems to be holding up ok. At the office I have the boom box set up, and at home have a docking cradle and have it connected to my home stereo system. That way, as an auxilary input, I can use my cassette recorder and tape content I may like to keep. Sound is clear and good, mostly just going back and forth between comedy channels and Howard Stern stuff. Mostly very pleased with this purchase...here in LA reception is fine. Setting it up with the fm modulator, I have been able to send the signal to other fm radio's set to the same unused frequency to hear satellite broadcasts away from the unit. Distance only 15-20 ft, which I am working on. May wire the house so I have speakers throughout so I can hear it in every room. What? Yea, I know...

Kenwood KPA-H2EH Home Docking Kit for Sirius Here2Everywhere Satellite Radio Tuner Review

Kenwood KPA-H2EH Home Docking Kit for Sirius Here2Everywhere Satellite Radio Tuner
Average Reviews:

The home docking station cuts off the FM tuner capability enough to render that feature useless to transmit to other FM radios in the house. For the same dollar amount, buy the car kit, (I bought a 2nd, and will buy a third). The cradle on the car kit sits in a flat surface just as well as the home unit. If I would have known then, I wouldn't have bought the Home Kit..... P.S. I wrote a similar review on Kenwoods' Website.. Hope this helps..........Amps: Eureka, California.........

Enjoy more than 120 channels of Sirius satellite radio while in the living room or kitchen with this comprehensive connection kit, which includes everything you need to connect your Kenwood Sirius Here2Everywhere tuner (sold separately) to your home stereo. The kit comes with a docking cradle (with power connection), a patch cable, and an indoor/outdoor antenna. You can also connect the tuner to other audio devices that feature RCA inputs.

XM XDNX1V1 Onyx Dock-and-Play Radio with Car Kit (Black) Review

XM XDNX1V1 Onyx Dock-and-Play Radio with Car Kit (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'll start with my short satellite radio history. I've had XM radio for about six months now. My first radio was an XpressR, which was very good and had lots of bells and whistles, but definitely showed its design roots in the early 2000's and was slow to navigate. Some jerk broke into my car and took that one. I replaced it with the XpressRC, which was a nice update to the XpressR, and much faster, but I kept having a problem where it would regularly lose all my presets and settings, so I returned it and replaced it with the XM OnyX.
I decided not to go with the SkyDock because while it is a cool idea, one thing I love about satellite radio is not having the need to hook my iPhone/iPod up every time I get in the car to have some tunes. With a regular XM radio, I get in the car and drive and I don't need to do anything else. Wanting to try a newer model radio model instead, I went with the XM OnyX. I could barely find any reviews or anything online, so it was kind of a shot in the dark.
The OnyX is a solid radio with a nice design. I'd say it is more attractively designed and has better build quality than my two preceding radios. It comes with some color accent rings you can swap out, which is an interesting idea, but the color choices are only glossy black, matte silverish-white and matte blue. I wish there was a glossy red in there, but really even having that choice is a unique idea I shouldn't complain about. The display is full color, however instead of seeing full-color channel logos and graphics, the only color you see is the background and text colors. While it is much more minimalist than the XpressRC, I will go out on a limb to say that I prefer the solid color background of the OnyX to the unnecessary flashiness of the XpressRC. Having the blue or red background looks really nice while in use in my VW Rabbit. Combine this with the design of the radio and it is a very attractive aesthetic upgrade for my car as opposed to the eye sores some other satellite radios can be.
Navigation is quick and simple. Up and down buttons change the channels while left and right flip through the categories. You have ten one-button presets. The only unneccessary button for me is the FM button because I use auxiliary input. I have always preferred a less-is-more approach to electronics, so I appreciate a design that isn't littered with buttons and functions that you don't use often.
Sound quality seems loud and clear. The aux signal is noticably louder than my Xpress radios. When I flip back and forth between XM and FM, the volume seems about the same, which wasn't true with my previous radios.
When comparing this radio to the Xpress's, I have to bring up the lack of bells and whistles. This radio is more basic. It does not have artist/sports alerts which were convenient on the Xpress's. There are less display options, but the display is well laid out and is safe to view while driving (enough info, but not too much). There is no live pause or any buffer to rewind through-- I never really made good use of that feature on my Xpress's. There are no stock quotes or sports scores, which is fine because that is what my iPhone is for. It does not come with a remote which I don't care at all about because I use it in the car and just use the online streaming at home. So really of all those things, the only thing I would have liked to have seen in the OnyX would have been the artist/sports alerts.
All in all, the XM OnyX is a solidly designed and attractive XM radio that I would recommend to anyone who wants to experience XM in their car. It is not the flashiest radio, and will not blow you away with features, but it is probably the best basic car radio that Sirius XM produces.
