(More customer reviews)I was looking for speakers and something to keep my iPod charged while I listened to it at work and saw this advertised at Kohl's. Checked Amazon and found it for less (and in black). Most iPod boomboxes get poor reception but this one does better than most I have seen. I have the iLuv iPod boombox for use at home but wanted something a little smaller for work. Radio gets suprisingly clear reception (usually a problem in offices) and the sound is good. Defintely not useful for a party but if you want something inexpensve, portable, with good sound and an AM/FM radio, this gets the job done. My only complaint is that the LED display can be hard to see at an angle, but that is a minor issue.

iLive Portable Boombox with iPod Dock (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted a little ipod radio with good sound quality for patio parties or in our basement when we're hanging out. But this boombox has really cheap, tinny sound, no bass, no treble, just like a little kids radio. Also the cord connection isn't very strong so the sound cuts out and the cord has to be wiggled for it to come back on. I'll be returning this and purchasing the rounded version of this radio, that takes 8 C batteries and comes in different colors. Hoping that it has better sound quality than this piece of junk.

iLive 2.1 Channel Speaker Bar with Dock for iPhone and iPod (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)For this review I expected a good small footprint sound bar for a bedroom.
I got this sound bar at work because I wanted something better than TV stereo but nothing too crazy. This sound bar has good audio quality and even has decent bass and treble settings
It looks nice with blue lit buttons and a blue lit front display that dims when not in use. The iPod drawer is automatic and you don't have to press to release like many others. It can wall mount using two hinges that you screw into the wall and attach to a rail on the back.
By now you probably know that this product has no IR code for universal remotes. You should also know that the remote it comes with isn't great either. It seems like it only works well when you are directly in front of the sound bar and not too far off to the side. Also, it would seem a higher than normal percentage of these are DOA and don't power on for very long before dying. Just be aware and have it exchanged if yours smells like burnt plastic when you turn it on.

First radio right out of the box had a bum left speaker! Returned back to Amazon without any problems. Love you guys! Second one showed up and lasted but a week. Power button on, getting power, but NOTHING. No sound at all. Radio didn't work. Would show that the iPod was charging but not getting any sound. Sorry to say to you all... but I would stay away from this one!

(More customer reviews)It's not a bad package all in all -- lightweight, runs off C batteries or an AC power adapter, charges your iPod when docked, and has dock adapters for all but the newest iPod nano models. It was a pleasant surprise to find that the box also included a 1/8" phone plug cable for connecting non-iPod devices and a 12V car power adapter.
My iPod mini and 5G iPod fit snugly into the dock, and the secure fit makes it much easier to use the click wheel than on competing products where the iPod can wobble a bit.
The sound quality is merely adequate and bass is nonexistent. You just can't expect very much from such a small unit. So much for the "Rich full sound" promised by the advertising copy.
I'm rating it only 2 stars because it's not worth the MSRP. I was able to pick one up for a good deal less than list price because of a sale at the local electronics superstore, but with the normal pricing it just doesn't offer a whole lot for the money.

(More customer reviews)Really disappointing radio. Here are the problems I had with it:
1. Whenever you turn it on, the volume is always set at 20. This is really loud! I expected there to be some sort of 'volume memory'; when I set it at level 10, it should stay at level 10 when I turn it on the next time. It doesn't.
2. The nature sounds have a very clear "silent pause" when the sound loops. This is quite annoying to listen to a silent moment every 20 seconds when I'm trying to relax.
3. The digital time projection states in the manual that it is reversible. It isn't. When it's projected on the ceiling with the clock next to my bed, the projection is upside down. I should be able to reverse it, but I can't.
4. Customer service is virtually non-existent. The website only has .pdf versions of the instruction manual included with the item (which is woefully lacking). They do not have a toll-free support line, so be prepared to pay for a long-distance call. I called their customer service line to address my concerns, spent 40 minutes on hold, then was transferred to the voice mail of someone with a very thick Indian accent. Waste of time and money- thanks iLive!
I've returned this item. Don't make the same mistake I did by purchasing this POS!

(More customer reviews)This is a great product save for one important feature: The CD player works well, the Ipod cradle is child-friendly, and the pink color is just fantastic for my girls; unfortunately, it does not charge my Ipod Nano (4th generation) 8GB.
I called the manufacturer and they said they only supported charging the Ipod Nano up to the 2nd generation.
I wish the product description includes this most important fact.
So, I had to return the product for full refund.

The unit has great sound and integrates great with our existing sterio system. It has played every CD I have thrown at it with music on it. I am sure it is incompatible with some cheap brands, but I only use Sony, HP and Memorex. It also works incredibly well with my IPOD.
I have been using the unit for about a year now and my kids are on it daily. It has been an entertainment godsend. Thanks ILive!!

AFTER A COUPLE OF E-MAILS, THEY WROTE BACK, TOLD ME THEY WOULD HONOR THE WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS EXPIRED, AND REPLACED THEUNIT WITH A NEW ONE. THE COMPANY STOOD BY THE PRODUCT. THE NEW UNIT IS AN IMPROVED MODEL, AND IT IS MUCH BETTER. FOR THE PRICE, IT'S AN PRETTY GOOD VALUE. AT LEAST THE ONE WE HAVE WORKS NOW. THANKS TO iLIVE FOR BEING A STAND-UP COMPANY. We purchased this unit at a Kohl's in Arkansas in April. It is a cheaply made unit. If you turn up the volume very loud, the CD player will skip, so apparently there is no anti-skip feature. That's extremely annoying. The unit began to give problems just after the 90-day warranty (imagine that!) and now it will not turn on at all. The clock display will appear if the unit is plugged in, with the time of 12:00, but you cannot set or change it. The iPod will charge, but will not play. We are going to throw this hunk of junk in the trash. I certainly cannot sell it to anyone, as it will not function or play, PERIOD. Perhaps another manufacturer has a better quality type of iPod boom box that will work well. Whatever you do, PLEASE do yourself a favor, and avoid this product like the plague! I intend to write the company over this most disapointing experience.
